S1 / S2 pupils
Any pupil who would like instrumental lessons, should come to a meeting on Friday 7 September at 12.30 pm in Music room 125. We have spaces in Brass (trumpet, trombone, horn), Woodwind (flute, clarinet, bassoon), Percussion (Drumkit), Guitar, Bass Guitar and piano. You MUST come to this meeting if you want to play a musical instrument.
Homework for Tuesday 4 September – play Skye Boat Song on any instrument (except drumkt!) Start on the note Db.

All pupils in S5/6 have two items of homework for this week and both were started in class, week beginning 27 August.

Music Activities restarting after the summer holidays…….
Senior Concert Band restarts on Wednesday 29 August at 12.30 pm in Music room 125. All Brass, Woodwind and Percussion players from S3 up to S6 should attend.
Orchestra restarts on Wednesday 29 August at 2.50 pm till 3.55 pm in Music room 125. All strings players and nominated Brass, Woodwind and Percussion players should attend.
Please remember that Ellon Academy music activities are for ALL Ellon Academy pupils. Yes, those getting school Instrumental lessons have to attend. However, anyone learning to play an instrument outside school or who can play an instrument without currently getting lessons are very welcome to attend. For further details, please see Mr Birse as soon as possible.

For those doing SQA exams courses this session, you must be choosing your pieces now for the pieces in the Performing part of your course. These pieces must be in the SQA Repertoire list or exam pieces. If not, then they must be approved.
See Mr Birse or Mrs O’Brien to choose your pieces and we can get them approved if need be. They must be approved by the end of September 2012 at the latest.
